effing good friday
just posted an entry to the bridport prize poetry competition. Worth a try, though I doubt that the poem I just banged out this morning will win me 5000 pounds!
Booked the morning off work today as we needed to get an engineer round to look at the cooker, the grill's not working and one of the glass panels has fallen off the front. It still technically works for the most part, but it's within it's one year warranty so best to get the problems sorted.
Currently reading 'long way down' by Nick Hornby, about a group of people who nearly commited suicide. Odd subject to read about, really, though in some ways it reminds me of the haruki murakami books i've been reading where the characters take time out from the day to day of life to sort themselves out and explore weird pathways in their lives.
So what with sending the poem off and getting a clothes wash done and hung out in the garden, my day so far has been more than productive. And I've even done some tidying up in the flat. Love it. Time for some lunch soon, just realised I haven't eaten since breakfast, this being a major issue for me. Missing a meal, bloody nightmare. Since I've done so well, I might just sit on the sofa, eat said lunch (probably a trout salad sandwich or last night's curry) with a beer and watch a dvd. poifect. Might even go to the pub and/or have a BBQ later. awesome.
