  bits n bobs
Didn't go to that Concretes gig the other week, by the time we had dinner it wasn't worth the effort of getting into central London to watch half a gig, especially as it was free.

Easter was nice, we got the flat back to a tidy-ish state again, it'd got pretty bad over the last month or so. Went to B&Q to get some stuff for the garden, so once I get round to actually planting the various flowers n that, and setting up the patio set it should be pretty nice out there. Probably a good thing that we didn't spend as much time doing garden stuff as we meant to, since the weather seems to have gone lovely and cold again, maybe planning for BBQs n stuff has forced the weather to be rubbish. Can't be arsed to spend too much money on the garden though, as that'd be a little daft given that we're renting.

Found a better route to work for early shift - 406 then a1 then m1 then on from there, a fair bit quicker than the M25, less mileage and slightly slower speeds on average, so as well as the time I should save a few pennies on diesel. Speaking of which, k found the invoice from the garage saying what needs doing to the car so once I finally (2000 miles later) get loan money together from barclays or first direct, all will be good again.

time for my afternoon nap (albeit a bit later than usual).

  pfff
Need to get some work done on me car... dammit! I've gone and lost the list of what needs doing, so I can't really go get some other quotes for how much it'll all cost. So I'm pretty much going to have to get it all done by the garage I got my minor service done in last Friday, ie the same people who told me that my wishbone bushes are split, shock absorber is leaking, 3 of the tyres are near bald, the cambelt probably needs changing, etc etc. Ah well, it's all the kind of stuff I'm going to have to get done at some point over the next few years, so I might as well just pay for it to be sorted.

Went to see James on Friday, Seth was there as well which was cool. We went to see James's mate Owen and his band called Genius play a gig at Clapham Grand. The gig was pretty good, there was a nice mix of quiet and more lively songs, which always helps to keep people's attention. It's kind of odd seeing people you know play gigs and being potentially on the verge of getting record deals, etc. Also, I found myself holding back any criticisms I had of the music when talking to Owen afterwards, instead putting across encouraging words, it felt like encouraging someone to pursue the thing they really enjoy would be better than simply pointing out the bad bits. Is that fair enough? Not sure really, seems a little false, but well meaning none the less.

So now I'm back in for Sunday shift, really weird but as I've said in previous posts, I need the money, so that's the way life's gotta be for the time being. Going to XFM on the way home, to collect some freebies k won yesterday by calling in to Adam and Joe in the afternoon, voting on ditties in the dock. We've got some tickets to see a band called the Concretes during the week, which should be pretty cool. Freebies are the best. The best what? The best of everything. Not sure where to park to get to leicester square without spending all evening in traffic, probably up by goodge street and get the bus down charing cross road.

That's enough for now,
