over the top praise I was thinking earlier how cringing it can be when people give you loads and loads of praise when you haven't done that much, and a simple 'good effort' or something like that would suffice. Not that this sort of praise comes particularly often in life, mind! Just thinking that the following phrase almost works to sum it up (especially at work):

give me credit and I will be thankful
give me cash and I will be grateful indeed.

does it have 2 meanings? does it have any meaning? not sure really. Just thought I'd share that on here.
